}} Jay Lelliott (born 1 February 1995) is an English freestyle swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 400 m event at the 2014 European Aquatics Championships.〔 Lelliott started swimming competitively aged 11, inspired by Michael Phelps. In 2007 and 2008 he underwent surgical operations due to a brain tumour. He was part of the 2012 Summer Olympics torch relay.〔 He has many nicknames, notably 'Big Jords', 'Badger', 'Patient zero', 'Jordan', 'Big Jordy'. During the Commonwealth Games in 2014, Lelliott famously went in the wrong lane in his 1500m final and earned the nickname of 'Wrong lane Wally'. This was not the only occasion for Lelliott to get confused over the makeup of a swimming pool as he repeated the mistake at the 2015 British Championships. == References ==
